Emergency Room Malpractice

If you ever find yourself in an emergency room, either for yourself or a family member, it usually means there is something seriously wrong. And if you've ever been in an emergency room, you know they are fast-paced environments with doctors and nurses making quick decisions. There is very little room for error in the ER. When a health care provider acts negligently in the ER, the matter can make an already life-or-death situation that much more precarious. Errors in the ER do not happen to everyone, but they do happen more than most will admit.

Some of the most common errors made in the ER include:
  • Failure to diagnose
  • Misdiagnosis
  • Medication or prescription errors
  • Infections
  • Birth injury

Because hospital ERs are often understaffed and overworked, the likelihood of an error increases. While trying to treat so many people, others may be overlooked or lost in the shuffle. These types of errors are inexcusable, no matter what the situation is. However, of the thousands of medical malpractice injuries reported each year, nearly half of them occur in the ER.

If you or a loved one has been injured due to negligence in the ER, please contact us for an initial consultation and claim evaluation.
