Dental Malpractice
The number of dental malpractice claims, or negligent dental care, has been increasing. There are many ways in which you can be harmed by substandard care or mistakes made by your dentist:
- Complications from anesthesia, or improper administration of anesthesia
- Nerve injuries affecting ability to taste or causing numbness in the tongue
- Failure to look at patient’s medical history
- Failure to detect abnormalities, such as periodontal disease or oral cancer
- Extracting wrong teeth
- Unnecessary extraction of teeth
- Substandard dental work on crowns, bridges, fillings
- Infecting teeth, gums, or mouth due to faulty devices or tools
- Improper physical contact
This type of malpractice seems especially egregious due to the level of trust we have for those performing dental work on us. After all, letting someone put a drill while we’re conscious, can take an act of willpower we may not usually have. The thought of being permanently disabled or otherwise injured should never have to cross our minds. Unfortunately, this happens more and more.
If you or a loved one has been injured by a dentist, please contact us to set up an initial consultation to see if you have a claim.
